Winter holidays amidst Zugspitz-Arena
Seven villages form the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena next to the Austrian-German border. All of them located on the sunny side of Germany´s highest mountain, the Zugspitze mountain: Biberwier, Ehrwald, Lermoos, Berwang, Bichlbach, Heiterwang am See und Namlos. Alpenchalets Biberwier are located directly on the slopes, only a few metres from the valley station of Marienbergbahn cable car. Naturally, the Zugspitz mountain is the number one attraction. But the Tyrolean holiday region in the North of Tyrol has far more to offer for our guests: marked hiking and biking trails, refreshing mountain lakes, 144 kilometres of perfectly groomed slopes, 131 kilometres XC tracks and numerous skitouring routes.
Skiing holidays in Tyrol
You start your skiing day directly in Biberwier, only a few steps from your chalet. Marienberg offers 12 kilometres of groomed slopes and is ideal for families and beginners. The ones who love a bit of variety visit one of the five further skiing areas nearby: Berwang-Bichlbach, Grubigstein, Wetterstein, Ehrwalder Alm und Zugspitzplatt.
Cross-country, skitouring & winterhiking
What to do off the slopes during your winter holidays? What about journeying through the beautiful landscape of Tiroler Zugspitz Arena on the 131 XC tracks? Or enjoying nature on the marked winter hiking trails (60 km)? Or maybe even taking part in one of the guided snowshoe hikes?
Ice skating, tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides & llamas
The toboggan run in Biberwier promises true sledding enjoyment for the whole family, while others enjoy the winter landscape during a horse-drawn sleigh ride. Ice skating is possible on the natural ice skating rink Bichlbach or the artificial ice skating rink in Ehrwald. More special holiday experiences: a llama hike, a torchlight hike or a ride with one of the “Pistenbullys” at Marienbergbahn.
